[SPC2] si[ers and Wildcards

Out of curiosity, do those of you running Supers normally make most supervillains Wild Cards? It'd seem like what I'd expect (I'd associate Extras with agents and mooks) but its unusual enough to have a fight where all the opposition are Wild Cards in SW as far as I understand, that I could see it b...

Re: [Daring Entertainment] Apocalypse Campaign Guide, July 25th

Just for reference, apparently the pdf has been up on RPGNOW for a while (I don't know how long, so I don't know if I just missed it or it went up after I checked) and now the hardcopies are available that way too. They just released this past Wednesday (April 12th). I had been swamped with a ton o...

I'll keep an eye out for your further material; liked what you did in the core book on the whole.

[Interface Zero] Zeeks

So, a lot of the IZ material is on sale now on RPGNOW/DTRPG. I'm almost certainly going to grab all the region guides, since they're cheap. My question is about Zeeks. I seem to recall this was written for the prior version of IZ, and at least some of the material was incorporated in IZ 2.0. Is the ...

I'd be interested in the answer to that, too.

Re: Broken Earth - Post Apocalyptic Savage Worlds

Broken Earth, even black powder firearms are very rare, leading to most NPCs using bows, because they are cheap to make and cheap to supply ammunition for. arrows are generally easy to make and an entire quiverful can be purchased in most villages on the cheap. Psionic NPCs are more common, but les...

Re: Broken Earth - Post Apocalyptic Savage Worlds

I tend to describe the Broken Earth setting as a compromise between gritty and over-the-top; its not Gamma World, but it still has some fantastic elements so you're not playing Mad Max. Savage Worlds also tends to be a compromise in general; its not as gritty as something like BRP, but its not reall...

Re: [Fringeworthy] What ever happened with it?

I've run Fringeworth with other systems (Hero and GURPS) a couple times over the years, and its an interesting setting. Honestly, I suspect the IP owner must be being weirdly fussy if the playtest is taking a long time; there's only a couple elements of Fringeworth I can see that would require caref...

Note also there's a small amount of material missing from the Companions that were present in the Toolkits; at one point the PEG people apparently decided they didn't want to encourage use of certain potentially plot-breaking Powers so they pretty much vanished from the Toolkits replacements (genera...

Losing a full turn, even if you can just spend a benny to remove Shaken, is pretty harsh. I actually think that would make a power like Stun too strong. In contrast to what? I'd say the problem with most of the condition powers is they all too often make you wish you'd taken something else to do wi...

I meant it was better for you. :)

And honestly, never underestimate the cascade failures that can happen for someone; they can end up destroying all of the best of intentions and a solid work ethic.

The generic problem with supers games is that there are a lot of synergies that can be really problematic. Though M&M's PL system was a nice try, invisibility wasn't the only thing it ignored that produced higher effective values in things PL factors or otherwise are more effective than the PL e...

It might be better to just apply a penalty to recovering from the Stun power. The worst that does is require you to remember you were shaken from the power rather than routine damage.

While I understand why this was done--as noted, many players just hated how Shaken used to work--I sometimes wonder if there's much point in it directed at Wild Cards most of the time. Unless you get a second attack or other effect directed at you before your turn rolls around, chances are good to ...

As I recall there's a few small problems with the one in Broken Earth (has something to do with costs related to hex numbers rather than population if I'm recalling correctly) but its otherwise what you're looking for. A generally good book, too.
