Re: Raven

The latest were in DLR, including the rules that if he were ever killed, his stats changed to be harrowed, and he has a new weakness, at least as far as I remember.

Re: List of Conspiracies?

Don't forget the Explorer Society; it's mentioned in Rascals, Varmints, and Critters for DLC and also in The Flood. The Knights of Saint George were in Fire and Brimstone and updated in Stone and a hard Place.

Re: These DLC books worth buying for fluff?

I recommend South o' the Border and Great Northwest. If you're looking at DLC books, I find the territory ones (CIty of Gloom, Great Maze, Back East: North AND South, Great Northwest) to be the most useful. Most of the other parts of the fluff, like the portions of the Royal Court, are in the plot p...

Re: What Reloaded products have Cackler stuff in it?

He's in that adventure and the Cackler comic book. There's also a mention of him in the Update for Stone and a Hard Place. He really isn't mentioned all that much. The big book detailing him was DLC's Black Circle.

Re: What is the Twilight Legion

Spoilers**** Spoilers!!!! Various books, such as Weird Wars II, Weird Wars: Rome, Deadlands: Reloaded (The Flood, The Cackler), Rippers, and Tour of Darkness all have it as a connecting theme. The idea is that they are a major monster-hunting secret society. For Deadlands, check out the DLC book Ras...

Staying with RPGs while at school

Hi; it's been a while since I've posted anything, but I've been busy in the past while with a new son and attending law school. Given that law school is a 16 hour/day commitment, what sorts of strategies have the busier of you savages found to try and have some sort of time carved out for gaming?

Re: So...Stone during the Noire Era. What Changed on Him?

True, but if that's what it takes to tip the balance to making the locale a Deadland, then Stone would probably do it, especially if he could get away afterwards with no survivors.

Re: "The Cackler"

The whole of the series is really, really good. He's quite the villain. Also check out Dead Men Walking if you're curious of his stats. That said, I feel that the book is partially a fake-out; I think it better sets up some of the backstory of Deadlands in a compelling manner, like the story is tell...

I second the one-sheets recommendation. I kicked off a campaign with the Lynched one sheet at http://www.peginc.com/store/lynched/. I modified it, so that the posse was tracking a member of the Last Sons who had been following a command from Raven to create horrors across the Disputed Territories. I...

I ran this for my players a few years back. I remember one of the things that totally freaked them out was that there were no opposition wildcards. A little meta, but it was something that really kept them riveted.

Awesome write-up.

As I'm unfamiliar with Kickstarter, is it still possible for those who didn't kick money into the pot to still purchase an (unadorned) copy of the book?

[HoER] Junker Question

Looking at the pdf, it states that Junkers have access to All powers except "disguise, divination, greater healing, shape change, and summon ally." As it is not explicitly stated, does that also mean access to the other powers of the other ANBs, like EMP from the Doomsayers or Mindlink, Mi...

Re: Witches - yeah, kinda sad to see 'em not mentioned. Also not mentioned, Cyborgs. Which is kinda odd, as you'd think they'd be in there -(SPOILER) not to mention a certain NPC statted out has the fluff and crunch of cyborgs mentioned - it talked about Rules of Engagement and Cyborg Chassies. May...

Some of the location books might be useful, mostly City of Sin, as it really adds more depth to who is in Silas' domain and what he had. Like ValhallaGH said, they're all pre-Unity, so they might be of limited use. City of Sin is probably the one that stands out in my mind, especially if your campai...

I've seen guys using the RoC sanity rules for their conversions of Warhammer and WH40K, so I'd go with the RoC damage rules. Also, the status system from Space 1889 is really good especially in making it slightly easier to gain and showing the mechanical benefit for it, such as having favors. Anothe...

Either 50 Fathoms or Solomon Kane; both are well done. Also I liked the plot point campaign in Rippers, although my players were almost veteran rank before we'd even gotten to the second plot point. 50 Fathoms: It's the gold standard; the campaign is also interesting in trying to add in more content...

It's per 1 on the spellcasting die, but in the case of bolt, if you're tossing 3 spellcasting dice, then you're tossing 3 spellcasting dice. It's just that bolt is the only power that allows for multiple spellcasting dice; the other powers are mostly 1 die per spell.

Mega spoiler, or so I would say if I were right: I always thought it was a plot by Hellstromme to get spare brains which were then used to build his AI which took over Denver in HOE. It's a simple plan. Set up rival group with the end of proving to be smarter and better than Hellstromme, get selecti...

The companion adds some new magic (gypsy curses), some new edges and hindrances, like new faction edges and a couple of really interesting hindrances (manchurian candidate, someone who's already got a demonic pact). Magic-wise, there's the addition of ritual magic, new abilities for AB: Miracles and...
