[SPC2] Damage Field question

#1 Postby DoctorWyrm » Tue Feb 07, 2017 7:36 pm

It states on pg. 25 that Damage Field "does not cause damage to those the character passes during his movement." Trying to figure out why this is. If the damage field is active and it would affect anyone within range, what makes the characters that are in the line of movement immune to this aura? Shouldn't it affect them the same way it affects adjacent targets at the end of the turn?

Nope. Think of it like this, it's the difference between walking past a raging bonfire and standing beside it for a few seconds. The only way to take damage in an instant would be to contact the source (touch it or be touched by it), but end up beside it for any longer than an instant and get burned (literally or metaphorically depending on the trappings).

Makes sense to me. Thanks for clearing that up!
