Scooby-Doo Bestiary!

#1 Postby TTTWLAM » Mon Oct 05, 2015 8:38 am

Howdy, y'all. Just some shameless pluggery here for my October blog project, which entails statting-up monsters from almost 50 years of Scooby-Doo history.

There will be a new monster for every day of October, and there's already almost a week's worth of material.

Would be honored if you took a gander!

Diego (the guy): There's a special event this haloween on our FLGS, that I wanted to gm a horror one-shot based on The Thing, but that my wife is pestering me to gm a game of scooby-doo "horror". My only excuse was "but honey, I don't have time to create stats for the monsters". Guess I don't have that excuse anymore. :|

Nike (the gal): Good job. I love scooby-doo much more than I should.

Thank you very, Very, VERY much! I'm delighted that these might see use at the tabletop--for Halloween, no less!

I guarantee there'll be monsters aplenty. And I'm saving my favorite ones for the last week!

To complement those, here are the Savage profiles I wrote up some time ago for the original version of the Scooby gang.

And hi there Von Dan. It's been a while since I've seen you post here.

I also wrote up a Scooby-Doo one-shot last year, called "Night of a Thousand Pumpkins."

Here's my version of Mystery Inc. gang:

I'm writing another episode soon, to be run later this month. It takes place in the bayous of Louisiana, involving a swamp hag, an abandoned paddleboat steamer, and a lost treasure.

Haha, you really went with some of the lesser-known creatures so far.

By the way, you have some pretty funny stuff in that blog. I was particularly fond of this:

I finished my Savage Scooby-Doo adventure. It's called "Swamp Stomp." Just in time for Halloween!

ZOINKS!!!

None of these wonderful things seem to be available online anymore. The blog where the bestiary is hosted seems to be set to private. I get 404 errors on most everything else here. Are any of them archived anywhere? Can anyone help?

I do have David Baymiller's adventure, along with Night of a Thousand Pumpkins and Swamp Stomp, but I'm looking for more Savage Scooby goodness!

Thanks!

Ya know, I neglected to mention this before, but what do you need a bestiary for?

You only need stats for one ordinary guy with innumerable rubber suits...

I intend to write at least one more Savage Scooby-Doo adventure eventually. Possibly a vampire, ghost, or werewolf. I usually write a horror adventure of some sort right around October -- this last year it was a Tales from the Crypt adventure instead. If I do another, look for it in the weeks right before Halloween.

I'd love to see more material for this!
I'm going to start running some intro to role playing sessions at my local library. Scooby-Doo is one of the best vehicles to do this with! Especially for grades 6-8 (middle school crowd).
