2.5D Paper minis

#1 Postby Bobble » Wed Nov 25, 2015 5:30 pm

I don't know if it's been linked here already but if you need a few D&D-ish minis (or demons, or a werewolf, or whatever), check out Eddnic's 2.5D paper minis. http://minipapermodels.blogspot.co.uk/

They are generally a single or just a few pieces that you cut out and shape into the 3rd dimension. Gives you a much more 3D mini than the usual standee without too much more effort. How cool would it be to plop down a 2.5D mini of the Big Boss for the campaign finale?

Eddnic doesn't really do instructions as far as I've seen. I've done a few of his minis and I think I get the gyst of what he's doing. If you have questions on how to shape the mini, let me know. I'll try to help.

Couple of examples:

Oh, man! These are simply brilliant!
And being paper you can increase or decrease the scale as desired when you print. Of course the smaller you go, the better you better be at paper modeling!

Is the typical scale 1" squares?

Aren't they cool? This guy has done some awesome work. I hope people use them.

Yep, 1" for his floor tiles. To be clear, the "square" you see on an individual's base is about half an inch so it fits on the one-inch floor square. You can see better here:

Very cool! I need another Treant in an upcoming session, so I'm going to use Eddnic's.
