Grenade problem

We played a SciFi game of Showdown last night. Most troops were equipped with grenades. Now these tended to have higher damage than the weapons so once up close players tended to use the grenades every turn. It seems to slow the game down because every throw must be accounted for (even misses).

We're thinking of limiting the grenades to 2 per figure next time but I know that's not what the points spreadsheet assumes. This also adds bookkeeping.

Any advice?

Just give them grenades with the "one-shot" rule. If you want two grenades, just have it cost double (that's what the rules say)

Unlimited hand grenades cost 21, while a "one shot" hand grenades costs 3
