New Showdown version

Hi, is there any chance to showdown core rules update? We have new shock rules, new maneuvers. Old version has few bugs too. No Hindrances points, balance problems, we have to add lot of our rules to get balance in our units. I think pinnacle can do this lot better. So is there any chance to this?

No chance whatsoever. They don't support the product and don't care about the people who already spent money on it. They won't even respond in the "Hey Pinnacle!" forum if the post is about Showdown.

Well that's good because it doesn't cost anything.

There's always a chance, but for right now, I'm afraid it's not on the radar.

They sold multiple products that run off the rules. The only reason Showdown was free was to encourage sales of the related products. The poor quality and incomplete nature of Showdown probably did more to hurt than to help.

What products were made for Showdown?

G-men and Gangsters by Triple Ace Games.

Zed or Alive by Rust Devil Games.

Modern Ops by PEG has its own version of the rules included.

Reality Blurs was working on one for Iron Dynasty called Art of War, but I don't think it ever published.

I would've thought Rippers: the Horror Wars.

The rest of those are other companies making use of the rules. You can't call out Pinnacle for that.

That, too! Thanks for adding it to the list.

I agree. I would assume someone would be already familiar with Showdown rules prior to purchasing a third-party supplement for the game.

Honestly, I do agree with the general sentiment. I'd like to see stronger support for Showdown as it's something I've wanted to try for nights when we can't play a regular game. So much fun could be had with a simple skirmish game without having to worry about a long-term adventure or campaign.

Maybe someone should compile all the new bits into a FAN! document?
